Trademark fees and payment instructions

Price list for trademark applications and registrations

An essential requirement for your application to become pending is that you have paid the required application fees. When you file your application in our online service, you also pay the fee in the service. You may file your application on paper or by email if you have a special reason.

We will not refund the application fees if your application is rejected or dismissed, not even if you yourself withdraw the application.

These fees under public law are exempt from VAT.

The fees are based on the Decree of the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment on the Chargeable Services of the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH). You will find a link to the decree in Finnish and in Swedish on the page Legislation related to our administrative sector.

Fees relating to trademarks with a reputation

The fees are based on a decision taken by the PRH on 6 June 2007 about setting up a List of Trademarks with a Reputation.

An essential requirement for your application to become pending is that you have paid the application fee. Enclose a copy of the receipt with your application.

We will not refund the application fee to you if your application does not result in an entry in the list, not even if you yourself withdraw the application.

As soon as we have processed the application and approved the mark for entry in the list, you must also pay a fee for such an entry.

These commercial fees include VAT 24%.

Price list for trademark examinations and information searches

The fees for examinations and information searches are based on a decision taken by the PRH under the Decree of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland on the Chargeable Services of the Finnish Patent and Registration Office. These commercial fees include VAT 24%.
