Payment instructions

In order for your application to get an application date and become pending, you must pay an application fee. When using our online service, you will be directed to pay the application fee either by online bank transfer or by credit card after you have completed the application.

The Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) can allow you to file your application on paper or by email only for a special reason. In that case, you must pay the application fee in advance and enclose the receipt with your application. Banking charges, if any, must be included in the amount you pay.

If you are allowed to file the application on paper for a special reason, you can pay the application fee:

  • via your online bank;
  • directly at your bank;
  • by using a payment ATM; or
  • at our customer service in Helsinki.

The receipt, or a bank statement, must contain the following details:

  • the payer;
  • the recipient (Finnish Patent and Registration Office, PRH);
  • the account number to which the money was transferred (PRH’s bank account);
  • the bank’s archive number;
