Changes – private traders

Private traders are obliged to notify the Trade Register of any changes in their registered details, for instance if their company name or line of business has changed.

We recommend that you check your current Trade Register details in our Virre Information Service before you submit a notification to the register to see what changes and additions you have to make. Go to the Virre Information Service.

Tips

If your line of business has changed

When you submit the change to the register, write the new line of business in its entirety. If you add something new to your registered line of business, remember also to include the 'old' line of business as part of the new one.

If your address or contact details have changed

Read more in the following instruction on this website: How to change address and contact details.

Please note

A private trader may only have one single Business ID, which is always attached to the person who set up as that private trader. If you pass on your business to someone else, in other words sell your business, the Business ID will not be transferred to the buyer.

Monitor the progress of your notification online

Monitor the progress of your notification using the notification search in the Virre Information Service. Search by using the Business ID or the record number. Go to the notification search in the Virre Information Service.
