Accessibility statement: Virre Information Service

The Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) works constantly to improve the accessibility of the service. We will update the statement as accessibility problems are corrected.

The PRH is committed to making the Virre Information Service accessible in accordance with the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services (laki digitaalisten palvelujen tarjoamisesta 306/2019, lag om tillhandahållande av digitala tjänster 306/2019).

How the accessibility statement was compiled

This statement was compiled on 2 September 2020. The statement is based on

  • an assessment carried out by a third party
  • our own assessment that most of the problems the third party discovered in their assessment have been corrected according to the instructions of the third party.

The statement was last revised on 2 September 2020.

How accessible this service is

This online service is only partially compliant with the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services 306/2019, due to the non-compliance listed below.

Inaccessible content

The content listed below is not accessible due to non-compliance with the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019).

The following content or functions are not yet compliant with the requirements (according to the WCAG criteria), but the problems will be corrected:

  1. (WCAG 1.1.1) Text alternatives for images: If the image does not give any essential information, the text alternative should be empty.
  2. (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.2) The “Show details" text and the button are not connected.
  3. (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.2) A text alternative for the “Remove" button should be added.
  4. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.1) Not all elements on the page are programmatically determined.
  5. (WCAG 1.3.1) HTML heading levels are in most cases used correctly. There are no headings in the info texts about the displayed matter.
  6. (WCAG 1.3.1) Company details are not necessarily content to be presented in table format. Therefore, the details should primarily be presented in text only.
  7. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.4) Not all elements on the page are programmatically determined.
  8. (WCAG 1.3.2) The instructions about the displayed matter are not read for the screen reader until after everything else, which means they easily go unnoticed.
  9. (WCAG 1.4.3, 1.4.11) There are deficiencies in the contrasts between the text and the background. There are also deficiencies in the contrasts of user interface components and graphical objects.
  10. (WCAG 1.4.1, 3.2.4) Distinguishable links: There are links in the footer that are not separated from the surrounding text.
  11. (Accessibility, usability in general) The instruction that is displayed when pressing the instructions button is visually often very far away from the related button and field itself.
  12. (WCAG 1.3.1, 3.2.2) Error in the label fields of the form for the Extracts, certificates and organisation rules search.
  13. (WCAG 3.3.2) When searching within a selected period of time, there are no text alternatives for “start date" and “end date".
  14. (WCAG 1.3.5) There are form input fields in the service to collect personal details of users, but their exact purpose has not been specified.
  15. (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.1, 1.4.3, 4.1.3) There are a number of accessibility problems on the login page.

The PRH will do its best to make the inaccessible content accessible during 2021.
