How to use the online filing service at ytj.fi in Finnish or Swedish

When you start a limited liability company by filing a start-up notification in the online filing service at ytj.fi (adding drafted documents yourself), enter or copy the entire content of the articles of association into the text box.

When you file a notification of changes to the articles of association, partnership agreement or rules, only change the items in the text box that the company has decided to change. However, if the box is empty, enter or copy the entire content of the articles of association, partnership agreement or rules into it.

You can copy the text from a file on your device and paste it into the box. To remove the document’s formatting, you can first paste the text into your device’s note application, and copy it from there into the text box in the online filing service at ytj.fi.

Remember to add spacing and subheadings, if any, between the paragraphs.

Open the draft preview to check how the text looks. Articles of association, partnership agreements and rules are recorded in the Finnish Trade Register as shown in the preview.

Each line in the text box may contain no more than 67 characters, including spaces. If you use the zoom function in the Firefox web browser and zoom the view to over 100%, the line division of the text you have typed in the text box can look different in the preview and the finished notification.

Please note the following:

• You cannot modify the text after you have approved the notification to be signed.
• There are separate instructions for housing companies and mutual real estate limited companies if the company has been established since 2019 or the articles of association are filed in the new electronic form. Read more below.
  

Allowed and forbidden characters and formatting

The following characters and formatting are allowed in the online filing service at ytj.fi:

• Finnish and Swedish letters
• Digits
• Period (.), comma (,) and colon (:)
• Hyphen (-) and slash (/)
• Section mark (§) and ampersand (&)
• Brackets ()
• Apostrophe (') and quotation mark (")
• Plus sign (+) and exclamation mark (!)
• Space and newline characters

Characters and formatting marks other than those listed above are forbidden. For example, the following characters are forbidden:

• Semicolon (;)
• Several consecutive hyphens (-)
• Dash (–)
• Characters other than those used in Western European languages (other than the ISO 8859-1 character set, i.e. ISO Latin 1)

The service marks forbidden characters in red and asks you to remove or correct them. After this, check the content and line division of the text one more time before continuing your notification.

Housing companies and mutual real estate limited companies: articles of association in the new electronic form

The online filing service at ytj.fi creates provisions 1–4 of the articles of association based on the information you provide and the choices you make. File all the other provisions of the articles of association starting from 5 or 6 in the text box for “Muut yhtiöjärjestyksen tiedot”/“Övriga uppgifter i bolagsordningen”.
