The PRH may use automated decision-making in the deregistration procedures relating to companies that have neglected to file their beneficial owner details. The PRH starts the deregistration procedures on 6 May 2024.

In the deregistration procedure, the PRH removes limited liability companies or co-operatives from the Finnish Trade Register if the companies do not file their beneficial owner details despite the requests from the PRH. Read more about the deregistration procedure.

The conditions for automated decision-making are specified in our Trade Register processing system. The specifications are provided in the deployment decision and the processing rules.

When can a matter be processed automatically?

The PRH can automatically process the deregistration of limited liability companies or co-operatives if the PRH does not during the procedure receive any written remarks about the companies in the procedure, requiring the officer in charge of the processing to consider the matter on a case-by-case basis.

How do I know if my matter is processed automatically?

The PRH sends a decision, appeal instructions and a Trade Register extract to deregistered companies. The decision and extract show if the matter was decided upon automatically and where you can find more information about automated decision-making.

Can I appeal automated decision-making?

Companies cannot appeal against the use of automated processing in the deregistration procedure relating to beneficial owners.

The PRH has assessed that automated decision-making does not put obliged companies in unequal positions.
