‍You can file the most typical notifications for the most common company types using the online service at ytj.fi. Please note that the online service and most forms are only available in Finnish and Swedish. Notifications filed in the online service at ytj.fi are processed faster than notifications filed on forms. Notifications using paper forms 

File your notification with the Trade Register on paper Y forms and their appendix forms. 

Our company-specific instructions include links to forms and their filling instructions. 

Proceed as follows when you file notifications using Y forms

1. Save the Y form to your computer before filling it in.
2. Fill in the Y form in one copy. You may also need other forms, such as a personal data form, and other documents, such as minutes. Enclose these with your notification.
3. Pay the notification in advance and enclose the receipt with your notification. See the Trade Register price list and payment instructions.
4. Sign the Y form.
5. Send the Y form with its enclosures to the PRH. You will find the delivery methods and addresses on the form. Please note: Do not send the notification by email or fax, as the notification will not become pending if sent by email or fax.

Notifications using online forms 

Only limited liability companies and branches can use the online form when an application or a notification cannot be filed in the online service at ytj.fi. Using an online form, you can send the Y form with its enclosures or an application to the PRH. 

Please note that all types of businesses can file the personal identity codes of the persons responsible for the company using the online form Ilmoitus kaupparekisteriin/Anmälan till handelsregistret (“Notification to the Trade Register”). 

Limited liability companies and branches: What to do if you do not have a Finnish personal identity code 

If you do not have a Finnish personal identity code, you cannot file your notification in the online service at ytj.fi. Instead, you can file your notification using an online form if the following requirements are met: 

• You are a citizen of an EU country and you do not have a Finnish personal identity code. 
• You use another EU country’s means of identification. 

Proceed as follows when you file notifications using online forms 

1. Save the Y form or application on your computer before filling it in. 
2. Pay the handling fee in advance and enclose the receipt with your notification or application.See the Trade Register price list and payment instructions.
3. Log in to the online form. You will find links to the forms below. 
4. Select the matter your notification or application concerns. 
5. Enter the company details. 
6. Add the forms you filled in and other necessary attachments from your computer in PDF format. 
7. Sign the notification by clicking Lähetä/Skicka (“Send”).
