EUIPO announcement: Study of online copyright infringement in the European Union

Copyright infringement, also known as piracy, remains a significant challenge for rightsholders in the European Union. The increase in the number of infringements is partly due to technological developments that have increased the illegal streaming of TV, films and live sports over Internet Protocol networks (IPTV) in particular. Finland is one of the EU countries where the consumption of illegal content online has been growing in recent years.
