Director selected for the Real-Time Economy project coordinated by the PRH

Minna Rintala was selected as the Project Director for the Real-Time Economy project coordinated by the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH). Rintala’s prior work experience includes various positions at, for example, the Finnish Tax Administration. In her latest role, Rintala was the Process Owner responsible for the Tax Administration’s data flow management. Rintala will start in her new position as Project Director on 16 August.

The goal of the Real-Time Economy project is to create the conditions for a digital economy, i.e. real-time economy (RTE). RTE is a system where all business transactions are based on digital, structured (machine-readable) information and processing.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment set up the project in June and it will run to the end of 2024.

The Real-Time Economy project is a part of Finland's Sustainable Growth Programme. The budget of the project will be covered from the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility from the beginning of 2021.

In addition to the PRH, the other Finnish authorities responsible for the project are the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, Statistics Finland, the State Treasury, and the Finnish Tax Administration.

Other parties involved in the project are Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK), Finance Finland, the Finnish Commerce Federation, the Federation of Finnish Enterprises, the Association of Finnish Accounting Firms, and Technology Industries of Finland, as well as the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Finance.
