How to ask for revision of financial statements registered in the Finnish Trade Register

You can ask the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) to revise financial statement documents if they include information that is confidential under the law or if the financial statements have been registered incorrectly. For example, if the financial statement documents include another company’s documents or they have been registered for a wrong financial period, the financial statements have been registered incorrectly.

You should state in your request the financial statement documents that should be removed from the financial statements that are publicly available in our information service Virre, and why they should be removed. Please note that the revised documents are available at request if the documents are not confidential under the law.

You must file all your financial statement documents again with the PRH – not only the revised documents. This is to make sure we register the financial statements correctly.

Who signs the notification?

The notification is signed by a person responsible for the company, who is recorded in the Finnish Trade Register, or by a representative he or she has authorised. Procuration rights are not enough to sign a notification to the Finnish Trade Register.

Enclose a power of attorney if an authorised person signs the notification.

What does it cost to file?

Filing of financial statements is free of charge. The handling fee is 85 euros if you file financial statements with the Finnish Trade Register later than within eight months from the end of the financial period.

The fee also applies to the financial statements for which we have corrected and removed an erroneous register entry in the Virre Information Service at the request of the customer, and concerning which the new financial statements are registered later than within the time limit laid down by law.

We will send an invoice for late submission of financial statements. The handling fee for late filing of financial statements applies to financial periods that ended 2019 or later. The fee cannot be paid in advance. We send an invoice when the financial statements have been registered.
