Limited liability companies, co-operatives, and other companies: how to file financial statements with the Trade Register

File your financial statements within the time limit that begins from the end of the financial period.

Limited liability companies, co-operatives, insurance companies, and European companies

File your financial statements with the Trade Register within eight months from the end of the financial period, if your company type is any of the following:

  • limited liability company, public limited company, co-operative, or co-operative bank;
  • if your financial statements have not arrived in the Trade Register with your tax return; or
  • if your tax assessment has ended and you can no longer file your financial statements with your tax return;
  • insurance company;
  • public insurance company;
  • mutual insurance company;
  • public mutual insurance company; or
  • European company (Societas Europaea).

Other company types

File your financial statements with the Trade Register within six months from the end of the financial period, if your company type is any of the following:
  • savings bank;
  • insurance association;
  • mortgage society; or
  • European economic interest grouping

Filing financial statements at the request of the PRH

The PRH can request your company to file its financial statements, if it has not filed them within the time limit. The PRH will send your company a reminder letter and request you to file your financial statements. Go to our instructions: Filing financial statements late.

What does it cost?

Filing is free of charge when you file your financial statements within eight months from the end of the financial period.

If your notification is delayed, the fee is 85 euros. Go to our instructions: Filing financial statements late.

How to file

File your notification by filling in the form for registering financial statements and enclose your financial statement documents with the form. Go to our instructions: Financial statement documents.

Save the paper form to your computer before filling it in. The form includes instructions on how and where you need to send the notification and its enclosures.

How to send the documents to the Trade Register

Send the form for registering financial statements and the financial statement documents for registration all at once:

  • by post to: Finnish Patent and Registration Office, Financial statements, FI-00091 PRH, Finland.

Once your financial statements have been registered, you will receive an extract from the register to your company’s mailing address recorded in the Trade Register.
